President Kalyan Ganguly said that United Breweries which has more than half the fast-expanding Indian market expects beer consumption to grow in excess of 20% per annum. ?We are expanding capacity in anticipation of buoyant growth? he said at the sidelines of a conference. ?Some of these will be greenfields while the rest will be to expand capacity in existing breweries? he informed. United Breweries which has a joint venture with Scottish & Newcastle Plc has a capacity now to roll out 120 million cases of beer annually.

(NYSE: SAM) purchased 52. 6 acres from the Campanelli Cos. 95 million as a possible backup site for a new brewery. Michelle Sullivan Boston Beer's spokeswoman said the company currently does not have plan for the Freetown Mass.

AC Golden Brewing’s birth comes as overall beer sales are inching upwhile craft beer sales are surging. During the first half of 2007 craft beer sales increased 11 percentwhile sales of all beer rose just 1 percent according to the BrewersAssociation. “The craft beer segment of the beer industry has delivered stronggrowth over the past several years” said David Peacock vice presidentof business operations at Anheuser-Busch. Similarly sales of Coors’ more pricey Blue Moon have beenskyrocketing compared with sales of Coors Light. At Applejack Wine& Spirits in Wheat Ridge a case of Blue Moon costs $25.
