Dusseldorf Celebrates Debt-Free Day With German Beer Sausages

12 (Bloomberg) — Dusseldorf capital of Germany'smost populous state of North Rhine-Westphalia becomes debt-freetoday after selling assets and cutting budget spending. The city of about 577000 on the River Rhine is officiallyfree of debt as of 5:15 p. local time according to astatement from the city's press office. A party will be thrownon the market square with free beer and sausages for allcourtesy of the mayor.
