The two were selected from a number of competing restaurants andgastro pubs in the inaugural James Squire Chefs’ Match awards. Flavour innovation and passion were the determining criteriathe chairman of the judging panel Matthew Kemp said.

Indigenous Affairs Minister Mal Brough said people had to make sacrifices to help stamp out the scourge of alcohol in Aboriginal communities. Laws that passed parliament today give limited exemptions to alcohol bans that form part of the government’s takeover of NT indigenous communities and are set to begin this weekend. The changes will allow registered tour groups to continue to enjoy alcoholic drinks at Uluru Katherine Gorge and Kakadu and follow intense lobbying by the local tourism and liquor industries.
