Appeal of permit for beer wine sales to be heard
Ventura County Star – Nov 6, 2007
But an effort by the small xnard market in the Cal-Gisler neighborhood to add some more items to its shelves — wine and beer — has some people up in arms. Tonight the xnard City Council will hear an appeal of a permit issued by the city’s Planning Commission that would give the market a liquor license to sell beer and wine. The commission approved the special use permit that would allow for the liquor license on a 4-3 vote. The permit would come with at least 30 conditions however prohibiting such things as the sale of malt liquor and fortified wines and ensuring that the store doesn’t advertise booze.
