The man was driving along Mill Lane in Frodsham just before midnight when a bottle of beer was thrown at his car. The driver later returned to the area and challenged the youth who was with a friend. The victim was hit across the side of the face with a beer bottle. Police would like anyone with information to contact them.

The “12-tap system” was the first thing I noticed after walking into the narrow confines of Tapped ut a new Sarasota bar featuring beers from American micro-breweries. Brothers and co-owners Matt and Alan Beaudry who hail from western Massachusetts opened their establishment with “Northern touches” at 1962 Hillview St. Located in a strip mall across from Sarasota Memorial Hospital between a Peruvian restaurant and dermatologist’s office Tapped ut is a 1700-square-foot shotgun-style pub with hardwood floors and maroon and black covered walls and ceilings that give it a distinctive Northeastern college town vibe. “We spent enough time on the other side of the bar — on stools — to find out what works and what doesn’t” Matt Beaudry said.

The first bottles of Peter Straub’s Special Dark arrived in Pittsburgh Straub’s biggest market last week.
