Green’s Discount Liquor And Beer Store

05quality: 4 | service: 4. 5 | selection: 4 – $$rDev: +4. 9%This Green’s location was a little more convenient for me since it was downtown while I stayed in Columbia. The selection is great. More imports than microbrews and of course there are the usual macro’s. It is always packed and parking is always a pain but it is well worth it. There are always lots of other beer nerds in the place to conversate with everybody is always giving tips each other to include their friendly staff.

coldcertainly better than any Thai beer (not hard) or any other SE Asian beer for that matter. It didn’t give me the typical “instant migraine” you get from Asian beers that are rumoured to use formaldahyde in the brewing. My headaches would tend agree with this rumour.

pittsburghlive.com – Dec 15, 2007
The Soffer rganization and representatives of Hofbrauhaus Pittsburgh will seek the approval of the Pittsburgh Urban Redevelopment Authority at a URA board meeting in January. Soffer is the developer of the SouthSide Works while Hofbrauhaus Pittsburgh would operate the German-styled beer and pretzel restaurant that will be built behind the Cheesecake Factory toward the Monongahela River. If the URA gives its approval construction could start in May and the facility could open by the first quarter of 2009 said Mark Dellana Soffer’s vice president of development. “We will begin demolition of the existing foundation on the site for the Hofbrauhaus and that should take about a month and a half” Dellana said.

Leffe Tripel – Abbaye de Leffe SA – BeerAdvocate
BeerAdvocate.com – Dec 15, 2007
finishes dry with some warming alcohol and the lingering bitterness and slight astringency. Carbonation is a bit low for the style. D- All being said while this beer is not exactly the definition of a tripel it is an excellent beer and well worth the money. Thoroughly enjoyable. Serving type: bottleReviewed on: 12-15-2007 04:35:51 | id: 590104… Taste – Fairly spicy with a hint of raisin. The alcohol seemed a little too prominent at first. However the taste improved and the alcohol taste died down as the beer warmed up. I would suggest not opening this beer until it reaches about 10°C (50°F). Mouthfeel – Good carbonation level. Aftertaste and texture are fairly good but nothing special. Drinkability – I certainly would have liked another one afterwards which is rare for a beer with over 8% ABV.
