com is back for another round! The whole month of February we’re serving up intoxicatingly fun bars and club articles — including guides bartender profiles drink recipes and even a little Brew City bar history. Cheers! In many ways the ld German Beer Hall harkens back to an earlier day in the city when people from all walks of life came to a tavern for a cold glass of beer. The times are much different but beer is the focus of GBH 1009 N. and Greg Brundage is the man pouring it.

9%I finally made it to Yankee Spirits after the people at my other favorite beer store (in RI) mentioned they would have Tuckerman’s 6288 Stout. Well they did have it and a whole lot more. I was very impressed with the sheer volume of beer in this store. I picked up a 4 pack of the aforementioned beer and a bottle of Stone’s 11th Anniversary Ale which came out just before Stone was available in RI and I was surprised to see they still had bottles considering the high demand for this beer. I had no idea that this place carried so many different beers and that MA had such a greater number of beers available than RI. The organization in this store was a little haphazard. I had a hard time finding what I was looking for.

5 | service: 5 | selection: 5 – $$rDev: +4%I have been going to the Liquor Loft since the day it opened July 4 2007. I noticed that there was a new store in town and figured “Why not? Can’t be worse than other places in town. ” Tallahassee is not known as a place for good beer filled to the brim with college bars that serve buckets of Natty Light and usually the best place to find a good beer around campus has been ABC (I know it sucked). To get a good selection one had to travel way across town and even then the place was never as good as Liquor Loft is. “The Loft” (as it is known around town) has raised the bar and now you can readily find world class brews here in this college town. The Liquor Loft now offers **500+** beersand the selection is still growing!I’m about to review my 100th beer on this site and no fewer than 90 of those beers have come from the Liquor Loft. I visit this place every week and every time I drop by there’s new stuff! The appropriately rotate the beers and occasionally have some good specials… To get a good selection one had to travel way across town and even then the place was never as good as Liquor Loft is. “The Loft” (as it is known around town) has raised the bar and now you can readily find world class brews here in this college town. Byron one of the store’s co-owners loves to talk about beer and will chat with you about the good stuff if the store is not too busy. He also takes suggestions and will try to acknowledge special requests and order it if he can. Angela the other co-owner is super nice and is always around to lend a helping hand.
Father John’s Winter Ale

S: aromas of chocolate malts honey vanilla and a touch of spiceT: chocolaty malts giner spice honey and a slight hoppy bitterness on the finish. M: thick and creamy good carbonation and a nice smooth crisp finish. D: It’s a big beer so I wouldn’t be able to finish more than one. However it’s flavours are fantasitc and does not taste artificially sweet like many of the other winter ales out there. I’ve bought it before and I will buy it again – a great beer to warm you up on a cold night. Service was average but better than it usually is at Willoughby Brewing. Food was tasty had the appetizer combo comes with quesdillias Buffalo Chicken Eggrolls and pretzels and also shared a Buffalo Chicken Pizza. verall not bad the food is outstanding but the beers are no where near GLBC. Worth a visit if ever in Lake County hioReviewed on: 11-02-2008 10:28:48… We sat outside on the back patio where the Hop Vines grow. They also had Patio seating in the front of the building. The beers were K nothing to shout about. I had the Pale Ale Scotch Ale and Moonbeam Wit. The Pale Ale was tasty. The Scotch was just plain bad tasted like Root Beer. The Moonbeam Wit was my favorite.
White Widow Steam Beer

45look: 3 | smell: 3 | taste: 2 | feel: 2. A: The beer is a light golden brown color with a short off-white head that fades slowly and leaves a thin lace on the glass. S: The aroma is of citrus and caramelized malts along with lager yeast and a touch of hops. T: The taste starts out malty and a little spicy with some flavors of caramel and citrus then a bitter burst of hops comes in. However the flavors don’t seem very harmonious. The after-taste is slightly bitter.
