But these days Kopman has to travel the globe just to find some good barley and hops. Rising commodity prices are raising costs for brewers across the board and forcing drinkers to pay a little extra for every draft of cold beer. But the spike in costs is affecting niche players in the beer industry more than the big boys who lock in their cost for ingredients with big futures contracts. Kopman is traveling to the West Coast the Pacific Northwest and England to try and find reliable suppliers of barley and hops. Speaking on a cell phone Friday from a beer trade show in San Diego Kopman said he was not having much luck tracking down a good hops supplier. “Some of the hops guys are hiding out here. They're not saying a whole lot” he said.

Starting the week of April 21 St. Louis-based Anheuser-Busch Cos. will debut a new television campaign highlighting the company’s environmental efforts such as energy conservation recycling and wildlife preservation. The rollout of the campaign is pegged to Earth Day on April 22 but the ads are scheduled to air through November.

"Hell" now No 12 on the New York Times Best-seller List after a three-year run chronicles Max's true alcohol-fueled adventures. The film will follow his trip to a friend's bachelor party where he ensnares the groom in a lie that threatens the wedding and then abandons him to pursue further carnal knowledge. After being banned from the nuptials Max attempts to get back into his friend's good graces. Bob Gosse ("Niagara Niagara") will direct the privately financed feature which begins shooting on June 2 in Louisiana.
