This Saturday it’s the Pennsylvania Microbrewers Fest the annual outdoors blowout at Penn Brewery on the North Side. This event will allow attendees to sip from their souvenir glasses samples of some 100 beers and ales from 22 craft breweries from across Pennsylvania and beyond. Tickets are $37 for each of three three-hour sessions — noon 3:30 and 8 p.

Beer cooler catches fire in pub

Fire crews were called to the Marquis of Granby pub at ld Harlow where they found a beer cooler was alight. A combination of water jets and dry powder extinguishers were used to put out the fire which is believed to have started because of an electrical fault. Essex Fire and Rescue Service said no-one was hurt in the incident which took just over an hour to deal with. The fire was noticed at about 1300 BST on Thursday.
