comStaff Writer WILKES-BARRE – Gary Neary testified at a preliminary hearing on Wednesday that he was going to a car show with his longtime friend Michael “Mickey” Coffee when their vehicle was struck head-on in Bear Creek Township. Neary said he was thrown from the car and knocked out. When he woke up he was on a stretcher and saw the other driver holding a can of beer. “We were driving up the road and all I heard was Mickey say ‘h my God’” Neary testified. “It was seconds later when the impact happened. The next thing I knew there were firefighters putting things around my head and I looked over and saw him holding a can of beer. ” Neary identified Shane Herbert 20 of Bear Creek Township as the driver of a Dodge pickup that struck Coffee’s 1958 Cadillac Aug.
