Wegmans stores in Erie begin selling beer

—Wegmans supermarkets in Erie have begun selling beer following a Commonwealth Court ruling that says they may do so. The supermarket chain has two locations in Erie and both began selling beer Friday. Commonwealth Court ruled Feb. 23 that the cafes attached to the food stores by an interior passageway are restaurants. That meant they were eligible for licenses to sell take-out beer.
