(AP) ? Lawmakers have passed a wide-ranging crime bill that would add new restrictions on sex offenders ban text messaging while driving and add penalties for owners of dangerous dogs. The legislation also would increase penalties for cattle rustlers and ban beer bongs and kegs from many rivers. The bill was approved by lawmakers in both the House and Senate this afternoon. It now goes to Gov. The legislation would restrict most sex offenders by not allowing them to be within 500 feet of a public park or child care facility.

Mayor Harry Tutujian was hand to enjoy an ice cold pint and toast what he says is going to be a great and busy summer in the Collar City. “We’re very proud of the attention that’s come to Troy based on all of these events those events have helped attract new and potential businesses to relocate to our city. As we all talk about the new barbecue place that’s rumored to be coming to Troy they want to be here because of what we’re doing here because of the wonderful people of the Capital District that support us” said Mayor Tutunijan.
