GIANTTI6:03 PM EDT June 9 2009 A table at elBulli foam-and-gel star chef Ferran Adria’s headquarters in Roses Spain is the culinary equivalent of winning the lottery. For those who don’t get a coveted reservation the odds being about 1 in 200 there’s Estrella Damm Inedit. It’s a blended brew coming across like a hybrid of wheat beer and lager. Estrella Damm’s brewers teamed with Adria and elBulli’s sommeliers to create Inedit. In true elBulli fashion there were more than 400 formulas before this one was picked. Adria’s restaurant-laboratory is known for its “molecular gastronomy” and 35-course tasting menu. Expect to pay about $10 for a 750 ml bottle of Inedit which is available at.

If you take a spin through some of our favorite beer blogs it’s no surprise which interpretation you’ll find. Here’s the background. In a recent closed-door meeting of the Senate Finance Committe Senators Max Baucus (D – Montana) and Chuck Grassley (R – Iowa) pitched a tax on alcoholic beverages and soft drinks as a way to help fund the growing cost of providing health care coverage for the uninsured a cost estimated at $1. 5 trillion over the next decade. What would that mean for beer wine and liquor drinkers? The excise tax on a case of beer would rise 145 percent to nearly $3 per case.

With the Tap in Haverhill that’s not a problem. The brewpub sells its Homerun American Pale Ale under its other moniker the Haverhill Brewing Company. For head brewer Jon Curtis the recent release of Homerun is a personal milestone. "This is my baby" said Curtis 25 who has been the head brewer for a year and a half.
