Police: Accused drunk driver leaves beer on trunk

— Police said a man accused of driving drunk left evidence on the trunk of his car: a glass of beer. A Vermont State Police trooper said when a car pulled up next to him at an intersection on Wednesday night he noticed a glass sitting on the trunk. The trooper stopped the car to tell the driver who he then suspected had been drinking. The man 59 faces charges of driving under the influence of alcohol. Copyright © 2009 The Associated Press.

And then next year there will be two. fficials behind Denver Beer Fest (the one this fall) and Denver Beer Week (which is expected to be held sometime in the spring of 2010) say their events are complementary rather than competing. Both involve the same types of activities such as beer-food pairings at restaurants special tappings at bars around the city and meet-the-brewer events that allow the public to get to know beer makers. But the separate schedulings also reflect a difference of opinion on when is the best time to try to prop up one of the state’s burgeoning industries.
