Beavers was arraigned today in Ferndale’s 43rd District Court on charges of auto theft receiving and concealing a stolen car and driving without a valid license. She could serve up to five years in prison if convicted of auto theft. Beavers won’t be charged for having an open intoxicant in a motor vehicle even though she admitted to police she’d been sipping the Red Stripe beer. Prosecutors often skip filing a minor charge such as open intoxicant when a case involves more serious charges because sentencing would be concurrent court administrator Linda Carroll said after the arraignment. She was to be held in akland County Jail after failing to post a $50000 cash bond ordered by Magistrate LaRue Mead. She requested a court-appointed attorney.

The controversy may have subsided pending a legal review but it has left a bitter aftertaste. However they may be having a little trouble dealing with their audience for an upcoming show next month. The problem specifically takes place in Malaysia where they will be stopping by for a show that is sponsored by Irish beer company Guinness. Although the concert is still open both the musicians and fans are restricted to a couple of rules. First off because a majority of the Malaysian population is Muslim – and Muslims in Malaysia are governed by Shariah or Islamic law which forbids the consumption of alcohol – the Black Eyed Peas are not allowed to advertise any sign of the beer their sponsor. Secondly the concert will still go on but ticket buyers are significantly reduced because only non-Muslims can attend the concert. All Muslims – which is 60% of the 28 million population – are barred from attending the event.

We went to a place called Uptown on a cold evening at about 6. Zambia has no Pilsner Bell Nile or even my favourite beer Guinness which I used to enjoy punched with a Coca Cola at the UMI canteen on Jinja Road. GA_googleFillSlot( “AllAfrica_Story_InsetA” );Here there are basically two locally brewed lagers; Mosi and Castle but you can also access the imported Heineken Amstel and the spirits.
